Unlike traditional Bluetooth, which requires one-to-one pairing, Auracast allows users to join audio streams similarly to connecting to a Wi-Fi network.
Advantages Over Traditional Bluetooth for Personal Devices
Traditional hearing aids often necessitate dedicated TV streamers to receive audio from televisions. With Auracast-enabled devices, this is no longer the case. If you possess Auracast-compatible hearing aids and visit a friend with an Auracast-enabled TV, you can seamlessly connect to the TV’s audio broadcast without additional hardware. This plug-and-play functionality simplifies the listening experience and enhances accessibility.
Integration in Public Venues
Public spaces such as Churches, theatre’s, airports, and lecture halls are increasingly adopting Auracast technology.
These venues may display QR codes that, when scanned, allow your device to connect directly to the venue’s audio broadcast. Do all Bluetooth hearing Aids connect to Auracast?
Unfortunately, No. As this is a new technology (2025) the technology is not backwards compatible as previously thought so it will only be available on devices where the manufacturer decided to have it inside that item
