Starkey Edge Ai: Cutting edge technology
Starkey Edge AI hearing aids use neural processing to enhance speech clarity while reducing noise, offering advanced health monitoring features.
The Starkey Edge AI brings together powerful sound processing and innovative features in a hearing aid that adapts to your listening needs. Using a G2 Neuro Processor with integrated neural processing, these devices analyze and adjust to your environment in real-time.
The G2 Neuro Processor in Edge AI mimics natural hearing by processing sound through three distinct pathways. The sensory pathway maps your listening environment, while background processing manages sound continuously. You maintain control over your listening experience through the My Starkey app.
Edge AI provides enhanced speech recognition with 30% higher accuracy in identifying speech compared to previous models. The technology reduces low-level background noise by 6dB, making conversations easier to follow in challenging environments.
With up to 51 hours of battery life on a single charge, Edge AI keeps you connected throughout your day. The hearing aids are built to withstand daily wear, featuring waterproof protection up to 1 meter in the rechargeable models.
Edge AI incorporates Bluetooth Low Energy Audio, enabling direct streaming from compatible phones and devices. The My Starkey app lets you control your hearing aids through your smartphone or Apple Watch, adjust settings, and access additional features like balance assessment and exercise tracking.
Edge AI comes in multiple styles to match your needs and preferences:
Deep Neural Network
The Starkey Edge AI hearing aid features an "always-on" Deep Neural Network (DNN) that continuously adapts to the user's environment, unlike older technologies that required manual adjustments. This allows it to automatically improve speech clarity and reduce background noise in real-time, providing a more seamless listening experience. The technology is 100 times more powerful than the previous Genesis model, enabling it to handle complex soundscapes without constant user intervention.
Oticon Intent is a groundbreaking hearing aid that introduces the world’s first user-intent sensors, powered by the cutting-edge Sirius platform. The Widex Allure (Coming September 2025) represents the brand's most advanced hearing platform to date, combining innovative technology with refined design to provide a natural hearing experience. With its focus on crystal-clear speech and environmental awareness, the Allure helps users stay connected to the world around them.
At the core of the Widex Allure is the new W1 chip, Widex's fastest processor ever. This integrated single-chip architecture offers 4 times faster processing speeds and 4 times more memory than previous generations. This significant upgrade enables more sophisticated sound processing and enhances the hearing experience.
The Allure features advanced noise management through Speech Enhancer Pro, which softens unwanted background noise while enhancing speech clarity. This technology keeps distracting sounds below your hearing threshold while ensuring conversations remain crystal clear. Clinical studies show that 92% of listeners prefer this technology in noisy situations, with 96% reporting less noise annoyance.
Building on Widex's revolutionary ZeroDelay technology, the Allure PureSound program processes sound in just 0.5 milliseconds, resulting in distortion-free speech that sounds natural and immersive. This feature is especially beneficial for new users and those with mild hearing loss, providing a more authentic listening experience.
The redesigned feedback control system adapts to the unique shape of your ear canal, reducing whistling sounds without compromising sound quality. Using adaptive frequency shifting technology, this system prevents feedback in real-time across different frequencies, making it ideal for music lovers and audiophiles.
The Allure offers up to 25 hours of battery life on a single charge, including 7 hours of streaming. Two charger options are available: a Standard Desktop Charger and a Charge N Clean system that both dries and sanitizes the hearing aids.
The redesigned Widex Allure App provides an intuitive user experience with AI-powered adjustments, directional focus controls, and an accessible interface. Users can easily customize their hearing settings, stream audio directly to their hearing aids, and control their devices through their smartphone or Apple Watch.

Hearing Aid prices for HSP or veteran clients - Free to client devices; then going up to $7000 per pair depending on the make and model of the devices.
(Includes LACE Ao Pro for partially Subsidised clients until 31/12/25)
There are a wide range of fully subsidised, “no cost to client” hearing aids available under the Hearing Services Program, including devices with features designed specifically for tinnitus management. All devices meet or exceed the minimum specifications required by the program.
For many clients, these fully subsidised options provide everything they need for their hearing and lifestyle. They are available in multiple styles—both in-the-ear and behind-the-ear—and most models offer Bluetooth connectivity for compatible phones.
If a Veteran or Pensioner would like additional features not included in the fully subsidised category—such as rechargeability, AI-driven automation and noise reduction, motion and fall detection sensors, ultra-discreet sizes, or more advanced noise reduction for busy environments like shopping centres—they may choose to contribute to the cost of the devices. This is known as a “Top-Up” arrangement, where the client makes a one-off payment that covers the gap between the Federal Government subsidy and the price of the upgraded devices.
For many years, hearing aids were fitted without adequate aural rehabilitation, which is essential for improving speech understanding and hearing in noise. There is now an app-based program that fills this gap, requiring only 15 minutes a day for 1 to 3 months to achieve meaningful improvements. To celebrate its release in Australia, all Top-Up devices fitted at AIM Hearing include the LACE AI Pro Aural Rehabilitation program at no cost until the end of December 2025.
Clients fitted with fully subsidised devices may also access the program at a discounted rate if they wish to improve their hearing-in-noise performance and overall satisfaction.
We never pressure clients to choose Top-Up hearing aids. We only recommend them when they provide genuine benefit and when the client wants those additional features. As a private, independent clinic, we are not driven by corporate KPIs, monthly sales targets, or top-up quotas. Our focus is entirely on what matters most—you and your hearing outcomes.
We only work with major brands, including Starkey, Oticon, Signia, Widex, Unitron, Phonak, and GN Resound.
We do not recommend and will never fit) white label hearing aids, where the true brand and model are hidden behind a retail-specific label and proprietary software (as seen with certain devices from Hearing Australia, Amplifon or Specsavers). In our experience, these can limit a client’s ability to move between providers if they are dissatisfied with their service. However, we can still assist with maintenance and adjustments on these devices and can access the required software where needed.
The Hearing Services Program also provides Assistive Listening Devices. These can be an excellent alternative to hearing aids for clients whose only difficulty is television volume at home. We often recommend and fit the Audeara Bluetooth TV Headphone Bundle or Audeara Earbuds for eligible Pensioners and Veterans in these situations.
Hearing Aids for Private Clients — $3,000 to $8,000 per pair depending on the make and model of the devcies.
(Includes LACE AI Pro at no additional cost until 31/12/2025)
At AIM Hearing, we sell, fit, maintain, pair, and adjust a wide range of leading hearing aid brands, including Starkey, Oticon, Unitron, Phonak, Widex, Signia, and GN Resound. After completing a comprehensive hearing assessment, we will recommend suitable device options based on your communication needs, lifestyle, preferences, and budget.
Depending on your level of Extras cover, you may be eligible for a private health insurance rebate, typically ranging between $800 and $1,600 per pair. Due to privacy regulations, you will need to confirm your exact entitlements directly with your health fund. When time permits, we can also offer an at home trial, allowing you to experience the benefits of modern hearing aid features firsthand.
Hearing aid pricing varies according to the level of technology, included features, and brand. These devices are classified as medical technology, and achieving the best possible outcome requires proper fitting, fine-tuning, and professional expertise.
Most hearing aids in Australia come with a 3-year parts and labour warranty, and the typical lifespan of a pair is 5 to 6 years.
For optimal hearing, we recommend a hearing test and device adjustment every 12 months to ensure your hearing aids continue performing at their best.
