Book a hearing test
How often should I get my hearing evaluated?
We recommend annual tests for adults over 50, or for anyone with known hearing loss.
Who does AIM Hearing treat?
We hold a contract with the Australian Federal Government's Hearing Services Program, so we can treat everyone with a valid pension card. We also work with private clients aged 25 and over, and we specialise in DVA treatment for veterans.
How long does a comprehensive hearing test take?
About 60 minutes, including a full explanation of the test battery. It is not possible to perform a best practice hearing test in one of those 15 minute free checks. A 15 minute test is the absolute industry minimum, really just enough to get you through the door.
Do I need a referral for a hearing test?
No. Some people come in with a referral because they have already seen their GP about a concern, but you do not need a GP referral for a hearing examination.
What should I bring to my appointment?
We highly recommend bringing a spouse or close family member. A second person is often vital, both for giving us the full picture of what is going on and for helping explain things afterwards. Hearing loss often affects the people around someone more than the person themselves, so their input matters.
